An added benefit of biking to work on designated Car-Free Fridays is taking advantage of “lunch break” discounts of up to 20 percent for cyclists, which are offered at more than 20 eateries in Long Beach between 11 am and 2 pm. Cyclists need only mention the promotion and show proof of ridership – helmet or bicycle lock key – to take advantage of the discounts.
